Holy Child Preschool Program is licensed by the
New York City Department of Health,
We meet all of their regulations and requirements
for an early childhood program.
We do require all children entering our Preschool to
adhere to the NYC DOH requirements for immunizations.
The only exemptions for immunizations we accept are for medical reasons
and must be documented by a licensed pediatrician.
We do NOT recognize religious exemptions for immunizations
The purpose of the Holy Child Pre-School is to prepare our
children for the elementary school experience
academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
We believe that each child is a unique person who
will grow and develop progressively according to
their own individual needs.
At Holy Child Pre-School we provide an enriched learning experience
in a supportive environment to encourage active learning.
These learning experiences will provide your child with the basic concepts
around which new knowledge can be built as they develop and mature.
Above all we teach our preschoolers to feel God’s love
and importance in our lives.
Our Preschool Program includes introducing and reinforcing
reading and math skills.
Our 3 year old classes use Handwriting Without Tears for
letter recognition and writing skills.
Our 4 year old classes use The Letter People to
develop reading skills.
The emphasis is on learning through group instruction and
hands-on experiences and experiments.
Our 3 and 4 year old preschoolers receive instruction in
Art, Science and History by specialized teachers.
They also have time in our computer lab, using programs which
reinforce reading and math skills while using
a mouse to strenghten fine motor skills.
All teachers are trained in the Sparks Program
(Sports, Play and Active Recreation for Kids).
The Preschoolers spend time in our outside playground and
using our indoor gym area to develop gross motor skills.
Teachers and staff are trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid.
